How We Handle Your Information

Last Updated: October 27, 2025

Look, We're Straight With You

Running an auto shop means we collect some info about you and your ride. We're not into selling your data or any of that sketchy stuff - we just need it to fix your car and keep our business running smooth. This page breaks down what we grab, why we need it, and how we keep it safe.

What We Collect

When you bring your car in or reach out to us, we're gonna need the basics - your name, phone number, email, and address. Can't really schedule an appointment or send you an invoice without that stuff, right? We also keep records of your vehicle info like the make, model, VIN, and what work we've done on it. It's super helpful when you come back 'cause we know exactly what's been touched under the hood.

If you pay by card, we process that through our payment system, but we don't actually store your full card details on our end. That's handled by the payment processor who's got all the security certifications and whatnot.

How We Use Your Info

Pretty straightforward really - we use it to do our job. Scheduling your appointments, keeping track of service history, sending you reminders when your car's due for maintenance, billing you for the work we did. Sometimes we'll shoot you an email about a recall we heard about that affects your model or let you know about seasonal specials we're running.

We also use it for legal stuff - keeping records for warranty claims, insurance purposes, and tax requirements. Gotta stay legit with the authorities and all that.

Keeping Your Data Safe

We're not some tech giant, but we take security seriously. Your info lives in password-protected systems, and only our staff who actually need access to do their jobs can get to it. Our computers have security software, and we back everything up regularly so we don't lose your service history if something crashes.

We've been doing this long enough to know that data breaches are a real thing, so we stay on top of updates and patches. If something ever did happen, we'd let you know ASAP - that's not just good practice, it's the law here in Canada.

Who We Share With

We're not in the business of selling your info - that's just not our thing. But yeah, sometimes we gotta share it with others to get stuff done. Parts suppliers might need your contact info for warranty claims. If we're doing insurance work, we'll share details with your insurance company. Our accountant gets financial records come tax season.

If you're financing work through a third party, we'll share what's needed to set that up. And obviously if the law says we gotta hand something over to authorities, we're gonna comply with that.

How Long We Keep Stuff

We hang onto your service records for a good while - usually around 7 years or so. That's partly 'cause the law requires it for tax purposes, and partly 'cause it's just smart to have that history. Never know when you'll need to prove what work was done for a warranty claim or if there's ever a dispute.

If you haven't been in for ages and don't respond to our check-ins, we'll eventually archive your info. But honestly, most of our customers keep coming back 'cause once you find a shop you trust, you stick with 'em.

Your Rights

This is Canada, so you've got rights when it comes to your personal info. You can ask to see what we've got on file about you. Think there's something wrong in your records? Let us know and we'll fix it. Want us to delete your info? We can do that, though we might need to keep some stuff for legal reasons.

Don't wanna get our marketing emails anymore? No hard feelings - there's an unsubscribe link in every email we send. You'll still get the important stuff like appointment confirmations and invoices though.

Website & Cookies

Our website might use cookies - those little files that remember you when you visit. Mostly it's basic stuff like keeping you logged in if we add a customer portal down the line, or remembering your preferences. We might use analytics to see how people use our site so we can make it better.

You can turn off cookies in your browser settings if that's your thing, but it might make some parts of the site wonky. We're not tracking you across the internet or anything creepy like that.

Marketing Stuff

We'll send you the occasional email about specials we're running or tips for keeping your ride in good shape. We try not to be annoying about it - maybe once a month or when we've got something actually worth telling you about. If you're not into it, just hit unsubscribe and we'll stop.

We don't buy email lists or spam random people. If you're getting emails from us, it's 'cause you've been a customer or specifically asked to hear from us.

Changes to This Policy

Laws change, our business evolves, so yeah - we might update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and if it's something major, we'll let you know directly. Worth checking back here every so often if you're curious.

Questions or Concerns?

Got questions about how we handle your info? Wanna see what we've got on file? Just give us a shout. Seriously, we're not hiding anything and we're happy to walk you through it.
